UFRPE’s International Office (ACI) is directly linked to the Rector’s Office, and seeks to expand and consolidate internationalization and the institutional bonds.
Created in 2007 from the growing necessity to unify existing actions of International Cooperation in the University, the ACI has been establishing new agreements according with the institutional demands, thus providing mobility opportunities to the academic community as a way to strengthen the institutional performance and promote cultural experiences.
With the support of the International Office, UFRPE became in 2013 a center of TOEFL application, to better meet the English proficiency demands of our mobility students. More than 2,000 tests were carried out already, benefiting undergrad and graduate students, as well as the University faculty and technicians.
From 2016 to 2017, the French Reading Program have been qualifying students to participate in French mobility programs, such as the BRAFAGRI Program, enabling them with basic, intermediate and advanced French courses. Native French teachers were specifically selected for this position.
Since 2015, the Portuguese without Borders Program offers Portuguese classes to foreigners from the academic community, aiming to improve their language skills and their curricular activities’ performance.
Among other general activities, ACI monitors the process of different cooperation documents established between UFRPE and national and international institutions, guiding the academic community on how to firm partnerships, mobility programs, courses and scholarship opportunities.
